The Velvet Teen

Hey all.

Woke up at 5 this morning. Could have slept but didn't really feel like it. Came back at 2am yesterday. Didn't watch any movie at all. Almost all sold out. Would have to go for a 3 movie marathon next week. Baybeats was fantastic. The atmosphere is something that I have not experienced in a long while. Just looking on at the bands on stage and hearing them play gives me goosepimples. What more if I was playing? Only caught 2 and a half bands. Furniture, Plain Sunset and The Velvet Teen. Furniture are their plain old self albeit with a new line-up. Truth be told, their turning towards pop. Plain Sunset was great. A cornerstone of music in Singapore. But, The Velvet Teen, a band from the US, was the highlight of the night. They totally blew me away. They're a 3 piece band; drums, bass, guitar/vocal/laptop. However, they sounded so beautiful and tight and the music was just really beautiful. I couldn't believe it. I was rooted to the spot. Entranced. Went to the booth to buy their albums but the newest one was sold out, so had to settle for their earlier album. Really beautiful music by them. Also bought an album by Thom Yorke, frontman of Radiohead. Anyway, listening to The Velvet Teen now, not that nice. Really think it was the second album that they were playing on stage. http://www.myspace.com/thevelvetteen . Guys go to the link and listen, especially Tokyoto. It's damn nice. Ah, train of thought lost.

Fog

Hey everyone. Back from my island resort once again. First off, I would like to clarify any doubts or questions that might have arised due to the previous post. Okay, some of you might know about Elizabeth. She's my 5 string bass. Now Claire, well, I just got her last sunday afternoon. She's really beautiful. She's a 4 string semi-acoustic bass. I'll try to get a picture of her up for you guys and girls to see. Probably going to catch two movies later, Murderball and Pirates Of The Caribbean, which I would have wanted to watch with someone else but is no longer possible now. Going for Baybeats as well. Think my mum's going to flip when she hears how late i'm going to be coming home. Alright, update later.

Adieu? Means goodbye right?

Hello people, I'm back to the land of the living. This past week hasn't been that bad. Can be considered quite adept at stripping and assembling a rifle, but my rifle range scores today leave more to be desired. It's ok. I'll just have to improve. Funny how most people dread serving NS but come out talking about it. I'm one of the few. There's a 6k route march next week, can't wait any longer. I'm also revisiting my past and starting to play magic cards again. Haha. Got tempted by my bunkmates. And the repeated losses made me harden my resolve. Hmm. Think I'll write more when I get back. Adieu.

Rant

Haven't been procrastinating for quite a long while I realized.

About love. I don't know. Maybe it's because I feel that, there isn't anybody worth making my feelings known to anymore.

The incident that got me to type this would have been big for me four years ago, when I was more sensitive to my own feelings. Since then, I've learned to shut myself out, but, maybe just this once.

I woke up this morning wondering what to do for today. As a NSmen, weekends and bookouts are a very important part of our lives. So, I sent a (oh no, I dallied for too long. Starting to think on her side of the fence.) message to her asking if she was free.

She said no.

Well, normally, this wouldn't have caused me any amount of distress. She's always busy and I've grown used to it. It's the usual, 'I'm quite busy recently. Not today. Some other day next week?' and something about me being so last minute.

It's the same everytime. I must admit, I do ask her out on a very last minute basis sometimes. But this time around, couldn't she have compromised a bit? I'm the one with the limited and fixed schedule here. I don't have a whole week to go out and do stuff. I have two days every week. But I guess it's true. She is the centre of the universe. Just like almost every other one of them.

Alright, the anger has died down. Resignation sinks in and I'm shelving it back again.

GlassHouse

Hey all.

Back from jamming with the old boys and girl. Watched England lose to Portugal. What a waste. Oh well, it's just football. I'm not going to lose any sleep over it. Got another wishlist. Ever since getting my money, I've been having this urge to spend. Thankfully, only on music related items. I've a full day tomorrow, but I haven't arranged to go out with anybody yet. It'll be a shame to waste a day off, hope to get into town tomorrow and have some fun.

This Is My Kind Of Happy

Hi, I am Frian Graham.

I love music. I love to love. I'll love to have someone to love. I'll love to understand where my life is going.
I'm fickle and indecisive.
